Americans Wear Blinders Toward Its Own Stupidity

Canada's Top Ten List of America's Stupidity That You Will Never See On Late Night with David Letterman

Number 10: Only in America...could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 per plate campaign fund-raising event.

Number 9: Only in America ...could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the population is black 40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans - 3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

Number 8: Only in America...could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Number 7: Only in America...can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media and liberals react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

Number 6: Only in America...would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens.

Number 5: Only in America....could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country's Constitution be thought of as "extremists."

Number 4: Only in America...could you need to present a driver's license to cash a check, board an airplane or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

Number 3: Only in America...could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. Oil company (Marathon Oil) averages 12% profit and they take all the risk and the US government takes by force 18.4% to 24.4% in gas tax for taking zero risk and doing absolutely nothing for that revenue other than creating a law to force the oil companies to give it to them. So the government makes 6% to 12% more profit than the oil companies themselves on gas sales for doing absolutely nothing but using force.

Number 2: Only in America....could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion Dollars more than it has per year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and the left complains that it still doesn't have nearly enough money for all their programs.

NUMBER 1: Only in America...could the so called "rich people" who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all .

How the Mighty Have Fallen

When you've scaled the heights of popularity that President Barack Obama did back in 2004 there was only one of two places you could go. The most absurd would have been to have risen to the heights of Messiahship, a feat not likely to occur in the political arena. The other was to sink like a stone, which is what has happened to this once ‘beloved’ of the uninformed masses.

It would seem that after two elections and almost seven years those uninformed voters who elected Obama to the most powerful position in the world have become a tad more enlightened.

According to a July 2, 2014 poll from Quinnipiac University a greater majority of Americans, including many who voted for Mr. Obama, not once but twice, now believe him to be America’s worst president since World War II. Not only that, these same poll takers now say they think former Governor Mitt Romney would have made a much better leader, would have handled the economy with more intelligent policies and would have likely taken a much stronger stand against terrorists in Iraq, the situation with Assad in Syria, stronger sanctions against Iran and more open support for our only real ally in the region, Israel.

Ronald Reagan still polls as the best president since WWII followed by Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy. Barack Obama has taken over the lowest position once held by George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, with one exception - Bush still sits dead last when voters were asked who was the worst in handling the nation’s economy. Obama, however, is only one point higher than Mr. Bush in this area.

An amazing 54% of those taking the poll say that the Obama Administration is the most incompetent of all previous presidential administrations over the last 70-years in its ability to run the government in an efficient and professional bi-partisan manner.

The president’s personal polling numbers have dropped significantly from the once high 70’s down to the Bush/Carter territory of around 38%.

The president has seen a steady decline in his overall approval rating for the last couple of years due to his amateurish and seemingly arrogant mishandling of important issues like his signature program - ObamaCare, the economy, immigration, foreign policy and terrorism. He also gets low marks for not keeping his promise to reach across the aisle with those on the other side of the political spectrum and his much touted campaign promise to have the most transparent presidency in the history of the nation.

It is highly unlikely, barring some kind of political or diplomatic miracle, that President Obama and his administration will recover from the ever decreasing confidence the American people are beginning to display for his ability to govern. And, except for the most stringent and hardened supporters - those who are blinded by the rhetoric over the ability - his numbers will probably continue to slide downward to the lower 30’s or upper 20’s before the finish of his final term at the end of 2016.

An aging President Carter can now sleep soundly knowing that he no longer will go down in history as the nation's worst and most inept president.

The Middle East Problem Explained in a Nutshell

This video sums up the entire middle east problem in less than 6-minutes.

The solution may take a bit longer because it requires one side to give up centuries of hatred for the other and a willingness to live alongside them in peace.
