The Sad Trend For News Acquisition

If the above captioned image of Jon Stewart of The Daily Show on Comedy Central is to be believed then all is right with the world as it eats cake. However, there is a truth but it won't be found coming from the pen or mouth of bought-and-paid-for comedian political satirists like Stewart and those of his ilk whose livelihood is dependent on that well-oiled machine called the entertainment/news monopoly. Mark Twain they are not.

The truth of the matter is that the jury is still out on the effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. ObamaCare) and will be for years to come. It is way too early to know the actual impact (pro or con). However, if Massachusetts is any indication then we know what the future of Obamacare will be - Failure! - just as its Obama stated model, RomneyCare, has turned out to be and why that State's predominantly socialist leaning Democratic Party controlled legislature has now overturned it. It has taken several years for the full negative health and financial effects of RomneyCare to rear its ugly head but time reveals all flaws and ObamaCare, just like RomneyCare, will one day be seen for the disaster it really is to the point that even Democrats (those cool cats who never even read the bill before blindly passing it) will be faced with the inevitable and abandon it like the whore of Babylon it is. However, the damage done by that beast will have been done and could be near impossible to recover from on a national level.

The unemployment numbers coming out of this administration are bogus because of the statistics they both add and fail to consider. They are adding in those working less than 20-hours per week (less than PTE - Part Time Equivalent) because they cannot find full or part time equivalent work; and are no longer counting those unemployed for over 3-years in a row who have vanished off the unemployment security listing, as well as, those no longer looking for work due to failure to find a job they qualify for. If all these were to be considered (as they once were a decade ago) then the unemployment rate is really around 12 to 13% showing a downward spiral instead of Stewart's hyped message above. Uncle Sam loves to fudge the numbers. But, who wants to talk facts when hype is all the rage for the way "news reporting" is trending.

I also find it interesting that since the so-called on-air "reputable" outlets for news (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX) have so drastically prostituted themselves with the Fed and/or mega-corporations (sometimes the overlap makes it hard to tell them apart) people are turning to the likes of a Bill Maher, Tim Allen, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart or John Oliver as their source of news and commentary - be it from a progressive or conservative bent. That is truly a sad barometer of just how far we have fallen as an intelligent, well-informed society.
